Job Openings At King’s Canyon and Sequoia National Parks

Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks (SEKI) is hiring two GS-5 temporary positions: Administrative Assistant, GS-5 and Visitor Services Assistant, GS-5.

Administrative Assistant, GS-5
Will work in the division of Administration operating the parks’ Personal Identity Verification (PIV) credentialing center. Duties consist of maintaining PIV card inventory, scheduling and conducting in-person appointments for employees needing card activations, certificate updates, enrollments, and pin resets, as well as other administrative duties. Work takes place primarily in an office setting at park headquarters located in Three Rivers, CA.
This appointment is not-to-exceed 1 year, full time 40 hours per week with benefits, starting before March 31 and open to local area residents only. No housing is available. GS-5 salary is $35,265 per year.

Visitor Services Assistant, GS-5
Will work in the division of Interpretation answering the main park phone line and responding to visitor emails and information requests. The number of calls can range from 40-175 per day, requiring excellent customer service and communication skills. Between calls there will be voicemails, emails, and mailings, as well as other duties as assigned to assist with visitor information needs. Work takes place in an office setting at park headquarters located in Three Rivers, CA.
This appointment will end no later than November 2021. Full time 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 8am-4:30pm, with benefits. Start date will be before March 31 and open to local area residents only. No housing is available. GS-5 salary is $35,265 per year.
