Patagonia Lake & Patagonia-Sonoita Creek Fall Color 11/20/12

Wild in Arizona has posted a fall color report for Patagonia Lake and Patagonia-Sonoita Creek Preserve:

Patagonia Lake and Patagonia-Sonoita Creek Preserve will both be at peak fall color for the next week. The Preserve was closed on the weekend because of a mountain lion so call ahead. The Huachuca Mountains are showing good color now. The good news is Garden Canyon was not burned by the Monument Fire the bad news is it is still closed to vehicles above the last picnic area so hiking into the canyon is a must but it’s worth it for the next few weeks. Upper Miller Canyon was burned and will take years to come back but the maples are 5′ tall now after 1 and a half years. The lower canyon is a week away from good color and the Agave are turning red. Ash Canyon is completely gone so don’t bother. Ramsey has some color now.

To see photos and older reports got to Wild in Arizona.
