Climate Change Threatens US Wolverines With Extinction

U.S. wolverines face possible extinction due to climate change.   Wolverines have thick, oily fur is designed for cold snowy environments and the drop in snow cover from higher temperatures creates a loss of habitat.  The U.S. Fish and Wildlife  Service has stated that wolverines need protection under the Endangered Species Act, however, they have been yet to be listed as other species have been given higher priority in the evaluation process.  Read more at National Geographic News: Wolverine to Vanish From U.S. Due to Warming?.
