It’s estimated that about 10 new drainages or seasonal waterfalls, which are officially called “ephemeral waterfalls,” have appeared in Yosemite Valley since the major rains started, Goehring said. The new waterfalls and drainages seem to come and go as the storms do, he added. While some stay for a few days, others have stuck the landing longer during the length of the current wet streak.
