SFGate reports
The California storm that swept through the state Wednesday caused considerable damage on Highway 1 along the Central Coast.
A rockslide at Ragged Point between Big Sur and San Simeon has now closed the highway for several weeks, possibly months, as it undergoes repairs, Caltrans told the San Luis Obispo Tribune.
The closure begins south of Deetjen’s Big Sur Inn and then extends a mile south of Ragged Point, approximately 45.6 miles.
