A significant rockfall occurred at approximately 9:00 am this morning on the El Portal Road (continuation of Highway 140 inside Yosemite National Park). The road is closed from the park boundary in El Portal to the intersection of the Big Oak Flat Road. There is no access to Yosemite Valley from Highway 140. Yosemite Valley is still accessible via the Big Oak Flat Road (continuation of Highway 120 from the west) and the Wawona Road (continuation of Highway 41). The road is expected to be closed for a few days and the park will provide updates when available. For current road conditions, call 209/372-0200 (press 1, 1).
