Tioga Road opens tomorrow at 9 am! A reservation is required to drive into *or through* the park (including on Tioga Road) if you are arriving between 6 am and 4 pm. Visit https://go.nps.gov/reserve for more information.
Flush toilets, drinking water, the visitor center, the store, and other services will not initially be available along Tioga Road. A limited number of portable and vault toilets will be available.
Please stay on trails, even if they are muddy or flooded, to avoid creating new trails. Do not walk on fragile meadows.
Hikers should expect snow at 9,000 feet and above, especially on north-facing slopes and in forested areas. Creek crossings are high. Watch for unstable snow bridges. Even a little snow can completely hide trails: be prepared to navigate by GPS (with map and compass as a backup) or to turn around if you’re not prepared for the conditions you encounter.
Tuolumne Meadows Campground is closed in 2022 and 2023 for a major rehabilitation project.
Expect delays due to road work on Tioga Road in the Tenaya Lake and Tuolumne Meadows areas. Delays of up to 30 minutes during the day and one hour at night from Sunday nights through Friday afternoons are possible. Some parking lots may be closed at times due to construction; parking should be available nearby any closed lots.
