23 April – 8 May 2021. Tune into World Migratory Bird Day – LIVE! This online festival includes a virtual tour of the Pacific Flyway on 8 May starting at 9:15 am Pacific Time. Hosted by Environment for the Americas.

May – July 2021. Toronto Bird Celebration. Make the most of all spring has to offer! This celebration includes free online sessions with something for everyone – including new and experienced birders, families, and people with disabilities.

6 May 2021. Webinar: “Touching Down in the Fraser River Estuary: Exploring how threats to coastal wetlands impact Western Sandpipers across the Americas”. Discover this important wetland with presenters James Casey from Birds Canada and Borja Heredia from the Ministry for Ecological Transition and Demographic Challenge in Spain. Hosted by BirdLife International.

8 May 2021. Global Big Day. Be a part of birding’s biggest team! Global Big Day is an annual celebration of the birds around you. No matter where you are, join us virtually on 8 May and share the birds you find with eBird.

8 – 16 May 2021. Vancouver Bird Celebration. While we may be sticking close to home, spring migration is bringing our favourite seasonal visitors right to us. Learn about them all through webinars, workshops, talks, and other activities!

12 May 2021. Webinar: “The Fraser Estuary – birds on the Pacific Flyway”. Join Amie MacDonald and James Casey from Birds Canada to explore the intricate network of sites – including BC’s Fraser Estuary – where birds stop to fuel up as they migrate along the Pacific Flyway. Part of a webinar series hosted by Raincoast Conservation Foundation.

28 – 31 May and 3 – 6 June 2021. Huron Fringe Birding Festival. This popular celebration has “migrated” to an online format. The line-up includes a presentation about the Ontario Piping Plover Conservation Program by Andrea Gress from Birds Canada on 30 May.
