Today marks the first day of #BlackInNationalParksWeek!

Over the next five days, we’ll be celebrating past and present Black excellence in Yosemite, and asking what it means to create equitable, diverse, and inclusive national parks for coming generations.
Help kick this week off! Whether you just visited your first park or your family has been coming for decades, post your photos with the hashtags #1stNationalParkVisit or #NPsFamilyAffair.
Stay tuned—tomorrow, the 104th birthday of the NPS, Yosemite’s own Ranger Shelton Johnson will be speaking on a panel hosted by
The Joy Trip Project
on the under-representation of Black Americans in park visitation. Register here: https://joytripproject.com/anti-racism-in-our-national-parks-a-panel-discussion/
