Asheville NC Fall Foliage Color 2016 reports

What a great week for a gorgeous drive in the North Carolina Mountains! Leaves are still mostly green with some bright colors evolving, mostly in higher elevations. The best color now is along the Cherohala Skyway (see photos we took on Oct 12). Overall, fall color is running about a week later than usual due to the warm weather. Along the Parkway, find the best color above 4,000 feet elevation, especially near Grandfather Mountain, Linville Falls, Craggy Gardens and Graveyard Fields. See more recent photos at our fall photo reports!
