Elsie Roemer Bird Sanctuary is at the east end of Marsh Beach in the town of Alameda. It harbors aquatic birds and other salt marsh creatures. Today there were large numbers of shorebirds there including Willets, Marbled Godwits, Western Sandpipers, Least Sandpipers, Sanderlings.Black-bellied Plovers, and Semi-palmated Plovers. Twenty-eight species were seen but no waterbirds.
