Ring Mt. Wildflowers 4/5/16

Where to photograph in California – Yahoo Groups (Calphoto) has the following new report for Ring Mt. 4/5/16

Spent a couple of hours on Ring Mountain Marin county, near Corte Madera) today (3rd wildflower trip in 4 days!). Highly recommended. Great variety of species. Of particular note was the presence of the Oakland Star Tulip (actually a lily.) We’ve been going to this spot every Spring for at least a decade, probably more, and have never seen this flower. This year it is all over the mountain.

note:  For those of you looking for the Tiburon Mariposa, the Oakland Star Tulip/Calochortus umbellatus is a different species of calochortus than the Tiburon Mariposa/Calochortus tiburonensis. Tiburon Mariposa typically blooms later, usually late May to June.
