Wind energy company pleads guilty to killing protected Golden Eagles

Audublog reported that Duke Energy has agreed to pay a $1 million fine for killing 14 eagles and 149 other birds at two Wyoming wind farms.  This is the first time that the federal government has enforced environmental laws protecting birds against wind energy facilities.
