The Rocky Mt. Nature Photographers Wildflower Forum has several new wildflower posts :
7/13/13 Drove up the road to Stillwater Reservoir today, lots of flowers mostly below Yampcola right now but conditions look good for a lot of flowers from now through the next three weeks all the way to the Flat Tops Wilderness. We jus had a gully-washer here in Steamboat and northwest Colorado has received some welcome rain, unless you’re a rancher trying to bale some hay.
7/14/13 Went for a ride to the Snowy Range today. One of the worst years I’ve seen in the last 10 or so years. Small patches of flowers here and there. If your going just to photograph wildflowers I wouldn’t waste my time. Also the beetle kill has made it to the top.
7/14/13 On the way back to Flagstaff today, I drove through Hart Prairie on FR 151 on the west side of the SF Peaks. The yellow sneezeweed, lupine and locoweed are in bloom.
7/15/13 American Basin- although it was my first trip there, it was quite disappointing. Not much variety or density of flowers. On an optimistic note, there has been afternoon showers that last few days. Maybe with a sip of water the late bloomers will pop?
