Best Places To Look For Wildflowers This Summer

California has had a relatively dry year. Your best bets for wildflowers this year are probably at the higher elevations. Two areas you might check out in the Eastern Sierra are Rock Creek and Bishop Pass. To find out current conditions you might try the Bishop BLM Office, Parcher’s Resort (Bishop’s Creek) or Rock Creek Lodge.

If you can get out in the next two weeks there was a recommendation on Calphoto to check out Carson Pass, Ebbetts Pass, and Sonora Pass, which may be less effected by the dry conditions.

Another bet might be the Pacific Northwest where there was substantially more rain. Here are several websites that post reports for the region:
