A Most Useful Guidebook For Bay Area Birds

The last few months I have used David Lukas’s Bay Area Birds book several times a week to learn more about the local birds.  It is the perfect complement to field guides. It has been most helpful in learning more about bird behavior including, diet, habitat, nesting and breeding. There is information on the current status and distribution of Bay Area birds with references to local bird counts.  It includes information on 320 species found in the Bay Area with more detailed coverage of 221 birds. The book covers Sonoma County to Monterey Bay. You can find out more information about David Lukas, his books, workshops and talks at Lukas Guides Home Page.
