The Director of State Park System has resigned with the discovered that the California State Parks have a $54 million surplus. At this time it is unclear if the surplus was due to mismanagement or deliberate hiding of funds. The State Attorney general will be doing an investigation. The hidden surplus has created an expected outrage as the park system had considered closing 70 parks to save $22 million.
