Over 5000 Acres May Be Protected For Endangered Shrew

The Buena Vista Lake Ornate Shrew is one of the most endangered mammals in the world.  In response to a lawsuit by the Center for Biological Diversity, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service has proposed protecting 5,182 acres in Central California.
