Godwit Days Migration Festival

The 17th Annual GODWIT DAYS SPRING MIGRATION BIRD FESTIVAL takes place in Arcata, CA on April 19 to 25, 2012.  The festival is held during the peak of Spring Migration.  Shorebirds are abundant and there are opportunities to see many other species, including Marbled Murrelet, Spotted Owl, and Snowy Plover.  The area offers a wide array of habitats including redwood forests, marshes and the Pacific Ocean.  450 species of bird have been recorded visiting here annually. You can take small boat tours of Humboldt Bay to view migrant shorebirds at their peak. There are over 100 birding field trips, lectures, boating excursions, and workshops are offered in the heart of California’s Redwood Coast.  The keynote speaker will be Godwit expert Keith Woodley.
