The L. A. Times reported on a Laysan albatross that was discovered in the back of a pickup truck in L.A. It is guessed that the bird probably came to L.A. after stowing away on a Cargo Ship. The bird was brought to a wildlife rescue center and released. Laysan albatross have a seven-foot wingspan and are normally found on islands in the northern Pacific Ocean. This is not the first time a Laysan albatross has been found in California. In 1979 one was found on the streets of San Francisco. Read more in the L.A.
