I am talking about the BIRD bird of paradise, not the plant. PBS’s Nature series has an episode this week on biologists filming this amazing group of birds in New Guinea in the South Pacific. The birds have fabulous colorful iridescent plumage and strange courtship behaviors where they hangup side down, dance, puff out and even distort their bodies to attract mates.
