First Trillium of the Year

No Slinkpods, but Trillium Starting

I went to the Regional Parks Botanic Garden (Berkeley, CA) in search of Slinkpods but they had yet to appear.  To my surprise the first Trillium of the year was starting to make an appearance.  There were still many manzanitas in bloom.  I photographed a few but it was sunny and breezy so not great weather for close-ups of tiny flowers.  Check last month’s posting for more manzanitas in the Regional Parks Botanic Garden  Manzanitas in the Tilden Botanic Garden.  I spent some time looking for things in the shade that moved less such as lichens, mosses, tree bark, cactus and eventually finding the trillium just before leaving.   Here is a slideshow from some of what I saw today.
