Today I went birding on the Richmond Bay Trail. It was low tide. The birds were plentiful. However, the sun was high and the birds were backlit which made for awful photographic conditions. I included a few anyway. I identified 30 species and probably saw more. I have included a bird list, which I believe to be mostly accurate.
There were even a few native plants in bloom: California Poppy, Sticky Monkeyflower, and Gumplants as well as a number of garden plants and wild aliens.
Richmond Bay Trail is an informational website that also includes a calendar of events. The bird list link does not work, but you can get an Eastshore State Park bird list (which includes the Richmond Bay Trail) by going to this Golden Gate Audubon link: http://www.goldengateaudubon.org/birding-resources/ The list is a PDF and you must download it.
Click read more to see the bird list of what I saw today.
