Tilden Botanic Garden in December

A very late season or is it a very early season visit to the Regional Parks Botanic Garden in Tilden Park in Berkeley

Although it is mid-December  and winter officially starts next week, many Manzanita are in full bloom.  One of the earliest bloomers a number of species of Manzanita (Arctostaphylos) including several rare ones are flowering now.  There were also trees still showing fall color, mushrooms in the grass and lichens everywhere.  Here is a short slide show from todays visit to the  Regional Parks Botanic Garden (Berkeley, CA)
