I just spoke with BLM office at Redding about Tehama Recreation Area and they reported that the wildflowers are still blooming at the Sacramento River Bend Area, which is just north of Red Bluff. I
Recommended wildflower trails for the area:
Yana trail for purple and yellow displays. The Yana Trail crosses Ink’s Creek and winds along the Sacramento River
Hog Lake trail offers spectacular wide open views of Spring wildflowers
Vista trail has breath-taking views of the Sacramento River or you can make a panoramic survey of the surrounding valley. This eight-mile long trail crosses riparian zones, rolling blue oak savannah, and lava rock canyons and offers some dramatic views of the Sacramento River and the surrounding landforms. Perry Riffle, and Jelly’s Ferry.
The Hog Lake and Vista trails can be accessed from the Hog Lake trailhead. These trails can also be accessed from the Paynes Creek. The routes for these trails can be seen on the Sacramento River Bend brochure’s map. Contact the Redding Field Office at (530) 224-2100 for more information. Tehama BLM site:
