At Mt Tam it has been a banner year for fetid adders tongue, probably peaking 1 or 2 weeks ago, but there is still lots out. The Bootjack Trail from Muir Woods was the best, with Ben Johnson a close second. Trillium ovatum are in full flower, along with a scattering of Cynoglossum grande, and we saw one T. chloropetalum. There was Zigadenus fremontii, Camissonia ovata, and Sanicula arctopoides in flower in the open meadows along the Dipsea Trail. Nothing extraordinary but really nice to see that spring has started. More mosses and lichens than imaginable. And fungi!!! Amazing variety. And winter wrens singing up a storm.

Hi Libby, Way to go early wildflowerer! Up here in the Arcata area I have seen Viola glabella, Claytonia sibirica, Skunk Cabbage, Coltsfoot (always comes out with its flower heads before the big leaves unfold) and lots of other real common species. We have had no rain this last week but constant fog.
