Great Smoky Mountains Association just published a new wildflower report dated 5/18/12by Tom Harrington
Metcalf Bottoms (Beginning to End) – Galax, Mountain Laurel, White Clover, Red Clover, and Golden Ragwort.
Walker Sisters Cabin (Beginning to End) – Rosebay Rhododendron (one shrub covered with blooms – at beginning of trail on right), Galax, Daisy Fleabane, Bowman’s Root, Wild Geranium (1), Indian Pipe, Ox Eye Daisy (1), Mountain Laurel, Red Clover, Wild Hydrangea, Golden Ragwort, and White Clover.
Little Brier Gap (Beginning to End) – Mountain Laurel, Galax, Beard Tongue, Flame Azalea, Ox Eye Daisy, and Hawkweed.
Little Greenbrier (Beginning to End) – Galax, Mountain Laurel, Spiderwort, Beard Tongue, Fire Pinks (very beautiful), Hawkweed, Clinton Lily, False Solomon’s Seal, Meadow Parsnip, Blackberry, Golden Ragwort, Flame Azalea, Wild Hydrangea, Common Milkweed, Solomon’s Seal, Goats Rue, Goats Beard, Rue Anemone, Wild Geranium (1), Vasey Trillium (1), and Bowman’s Root.
