Condor Tour at Bitter Creek National Wildlife Refuge Saturday, September 6, 2025

Greetings Fellow Condor Lovers,
We are pleased to be able to offer a tour of Bitter Creek National Wildlife Refuge on September 6, 2025.  This refuge was established in 1985 to protect nesting territory of the critically endangered California condor and is closed to the public.

Tours are limited to a maximum of 24 people, so applicants will be accepted on a first come basis and preference will be given to those persons who have NOT attended a tour in the past 2 years.   Due to the nature of the tour, no children under 10 please.

To apply for a spot, click the button and complete all of the information in the online form.

Yes, I would like to be considered to attend

We are an all volunteer organization and we do not charge for refuge tours.  Therefore, we will need tour attendees with appropriate vehicles (high clearance 4x4s and AWDs like Subarus) to volunteer to drive other tour attendees up to the refuge.  If you have this type of vehicle, there is a space in the form to enter the type and number of passengers you can accommodate.

Note that ALL of the information in the form must be filled out.  Cell phone numbers are critical because we may need to contact you with updates or cancellations.

Tours will be canceled due to inclement weather including rain and high winds or excessive heat.  Also for red flag warnings.

Unfortunately, due to our limited resources, if a tour is canceled for any reason, the tour will NOT be rescheduled.

Thanks to years of effort, Southern California now has a flock of approximately 100 California condors in the wild.  Hopefully we will see some of them on the tour!
