Santa Cruz Island Foundation’s Free online California Islands encyclopedia

Eight years ago this week, the Santa Cruz Island Foundation’s free online California Islands encyclopedia, ISLAPEDIA.com, was launched. Since then, it has grown to more than 16,400 pages with nearly 10,000 images. ISLAPEDIA is a research resource used by more than 12 million people around the world!
TOPICS are organized much like a biological key. The opening page begins with a block of 3 columns of 16 varied topics, including Voyages of Discovery and categories of people by interest and profession: archaeologists, artists, biologists, botanists, Channel swimmers, entomologists, famous visitors, fishermen, geologists, herpetologists, ornithologists, photographers, poachers-pirates-rustlers-rumrunners, and taxidermists. Each topic is clickable and leads to thousands of individuals whose lives intersected with the islands. It is a treasure chest of information for the curious. Check it out at ISLAPEDIA.com,
