Lights Out For the Birds

The National Audubon Society has been working with city groups for years to create “Lights Out!” campaigns to help prevent bird deaths during migration. A study by the Field Museum in Chicago found that turning off the lights at one downtown high-rise reduced migratory bird deaths there by 80 percent. But did you know that Los Angeles doesn’t have a program in place? Seems like a great project for all of us to do to help our birds…. Let’s get LA to turn its lights out during fall and spring migration!
