Closure Information / Parking Citations
Last week we announced that all of the Antelope Valley California Poppy Reserve parking areas are closed. Since then, all of CA State Parks closed their parking areas under the same Governor’s order. Local communities may still access the trails at the Antelope Valley California Poppy Reserve on foot.
Many are ignoring the intent of this closure (Stay at Home / Shelter in Place) and are driving to the park and parking on access roads adjacent to the park and are receiving citations in clearly posted areas.
Vehicles parked on, or parked off-road adjacent to Lancaster Road near the entrance to the Antelope Valley California Poppy Reserve will be issued citations. Please do not park in these locations. We do not want to cite vehicles.

In an effort to protect public health and the safety of our visitors, volunteers and staff as the state responds to the continued threat of COVID-19 the Antelope Valley California Poppy Reserve will be closed until further notice to all vehicle traffic per the Governor’s latest directive. The entrance gates will be locked. Community residents near the park may walk in. Many other State Parks are impacted by this order. Please visit https://www.parks.ca.gov/?page_id=30355 to see the list of park closures.
We thank you for your patience, trust and continued support. We’d also like to thank our volunteers and staff for their commitment and dedication as public servants through these challenging circumstances.
