Estimated Percentage of Current Fall Foliage:
Durango to Purgatory – 5%
Molas Pass – 10%
Silverton/Red Mtn Pass – 10%
Pagosa – 5%
Dolores to Lizard Head Pass – 5%
Mancos/La Platas – 5%
Ouray to Telluride – 5%
Areas with Greatest Amount of Color / Recommended Viewing Areas:
- Oak brush beginning to change at the 6500-7500 ft elevations.
- Bits of color and shade change in the Molas Pass and Silverton areas.
Estimated Peak Viewing Period: Another week at least.
Viewing Suggestions / Tips: Don’t expect much yet, but a lot of leaves beginning to yellow.
Trees That Are Currently Turning Color: Oak Brush low and Tundra up high. Aspens getting started.
