Birdwatch Magazine reports
The effects of mid-latitude climate extremes could have dire effects on migratory birds and breeding success.
Such results of climate change – which include unpredictable extreme weather events as well as unseasonal conditions –are predicted to occur with increasing frequency over the coming decades, but are not yet well understood. Improving our understanding of the effects of a full spectrum of environmental and ecological disruptions on migratory birds is crucial if we are to mitigate and introduce conservation strategies to reduce impacts on potentially vulnerable species.
