Columbia River Gorge Wildflowers 5/21/16

Oregon Wildflowers has a new wildflower report for John B. Yeon State Park in the Columbia River Gorge

There are still plenty of wildflowers blooming on the cliffs along the Upper McCord Creek trail. Small-Flowered Alumroot (Heuchera micrantha), Bronze Bells (Stenanthium occidentale), and some patches of Cascade Penstemon (Penstemon serrulatus) are blooming near the top of the switchbacks. Blooming on the cliffs: profuse amounts of Broad-leaf Stonecrop (Sedum spathulifolium), endemic Columbia Gorge Fleabane (Erigon oreganus), Martindale`s Desert Parsley (Lomatium martindalei), along with Field Chickweed (Cerastium arvense), Goatsbeard (Aruncus dioicus), Blue Stickseed (Hackelia micrantha), more Bronze Bells, and Small-Flowered Alumroot. White Shooting Star (Dodecatheon dentatum) is finished for the year… I only saw one plant still blooming.
