East Bay Birding 4/23/16

Bay Farm Egret Rookery and Garretson Pt. at Martin Luther King Junior Regional Shoreline

Today we went to see the Bay Farm Egret Rookery in Alameda, CA. There were many Great and Snow Egrets, building nests and sitting on nest. There was a lot of activity, bird interaction and more Egret sound than I have ever heard before. Below are a few photos.

Afterwards we did a short stop at Garretson Pt. at Martin Luther King Junior Regional Shoreline in Oakland. The seasonal pond is till there but is starting to dry up. Many less waterbirds. Did see a few American Wigeon, one Green-winged Teal and one Cinnamon Teal. There were many Dowitchers still around.
