April 2016 Golden Gate Audubon Birding Field Trips

  • April is Birdathon month, our biggest fundraiser of the year! Check out our array of unique Birdathon field trips, including:
    • Behind-the-scenes tours of special sites like International Bird Rescue, Hayward Shoreline, and California Academy of Sciences,
    • Full-day Birds and Wine trip to Sonoma County, including a private tasting at the family-run Robert Young Estate Winery.
    • East Bay bird photo safari.
    • Trips to Mines Road, Point Reyes, Audubon Canyon Ranch, Inspiration Point (Tilden Park), San Francisco and the Peninsula, and more.

  • Tilden Nature Area, Berkeley Friday, April 1, 8:30 — 10:30 a.m. (First Friday bird walk)
  • San Francisco Botanical Garden Sunday, April 3, 8:00 — 10:30 a.m. (First Sunday bird walk)
  • Friday, April 8 Second Friday East Bay Bird Walk – Inspiration Point Alan Kaplan will lead this trip as a Birdathon event!  Alan has offered to match all Birdathon donations by participants, up to a total of $500. Advance sign-up required. See our Birdathon trip page for details.
  • Alameda Creek-Coyote Hills Regional Park by bicycle, Union City/Fremont Saturday, April 9, 10 a.m. – ~3:30 p.m.
  • Corona Heights, San Francisco Friday, April 15, 8 – 10 a.m. (Third Friday bird walk)
  • Fort Mason Community Garden, San Francisco Sunday, April 17, 8:00 — 10:00 a.m.
  • Martin Luther King, Jr. Regional Shoreline Wednesday April 20. 8:30 — 10 a.m. Third Wednesday bird walk
  • UCSF Mt Sutro Open Space Reserve. San Francisco Saturday, April 23, 2016. 8:30 – ~11:00 a.m.
  • Lake Merritt and Lakeside Park, Oakland Wednesday, April 27, 9:30 a.m. – noon (Fourth Wednesday bird walk)
  • Mitchell Canyon, Mount Diablo State Park, Contra Costa County Saturday, May 7, 8:30 am to noon
