Gorman, Arvin and Elizabeth Lake Rd. Wildflowers 3/13/15

Where to photograph in California – Yahoo Groups (Calphoto) reports

Gorman is not worth the trip. Apparently there is only one small patch of wildflowers in bloom currently. They are expecting more rain within the next 48 hours. Hopefully this will produce some blooms a couple of weeks from now.

Visited a few places yesterday. I concur that Gorman wasn’t worth the trip. The same can be said of Arvin, where I only noticed sparse fields of Fiddlenecks dominated with little else. However, the hillsides of Elizabeth Lake Road (west of and at the junction with Munz Ranch Road) were aflush with Hillside Daisy, Phacelia, Fiddleneck, Bush and Miniature Lupine, together with some Poppy,Goldfield, Chia, Filaree, White Pincushion, White Tidy Tips and others. You have to walk up the slopes to fully appreciate these flowers.
