Anza-Borrego Desert Natural History Association reports on the Borrego Bandland
Desert lillies are beginning to bloom at many locations in the Borrego Bandlands. Most of these areas are not easily reached by car; they take some driving in washes and hiking. Fred says the only easy access they have sees so far is along the Henderson Canyon Road on the north side, there are not that many compared to the badlands, but a good hundred or so.
Lillies are hard to spot from the road, as they blend in. Not a good car plant as the flowers are white; you have to stop, get out and look around. Once you have spotted a few you will know what to look for and finding more will be easier.
