Monarchs & Birds At Aquatic Park 12/19/15

We went to Berkeley Aquatic Park this morning to see how the Monarchs are doing with the recent rains. They are still there. There were less on the trees and more flying than last time we went as the sun had come.  The Monarchs can be found in Eucalyptus trees just north and slight east of frisbee golf station 14.

We saw twenty-four species of birds. We walked from the parking lot near playground to frisbee golf station 14. Highlight was seeing a group of five female Red-breasted Mergansers. Also male and female common Common Goldeneye. Most abundant were the Ring-billed Gulls and American Coots.
