Australia Plan to Kill Millions of Feral Cats That Threaten Native Species

The New York Times reported on Australia’s plan to kill millions of feral cats due to their risk to threatened species and the response of the government to critics of the plan. I think the following excerpt summarizes the problem quite well.

feral cats prey on more than 100 of the country’s threatened species and that they were a “major contributor” to the extinction of at least 27 mammal species in the country over the past 200 years.
