Death Valley Wildflower Report – DesertUSA reports

One mile north of Furnace Creek, across CA 190 from the Harmony Borax Works is an incredible bloom of thousands of Desert Gold Sunflowers, stretching for a mile or more east toward the foothills of the Funeral Mountains. There has not been a bloom of this size in many years. Interspersed with the Desert Gold are several other flowers, including Little Desert Star and large Desert Five Spots. We will be revisiting these gravel fans over the next several days to see what changes.
