Berkeley’s New Plan Helps Burrowing Owls

After originally proposing to reduce the Ground Squirrel population through extermination, which would have been harmful to Burrowing Owls, Berkeley has changed course. Through the efforts of Golden Gate Audubon, WildCare and Defense of Animals, Berkeley has changed its approach to one of education that will allow the Ground Squirrel population naturally.
