I was back at Emeryville Shoreline and Marina at high tide again today. There were more total birds than last time on the rocky shoreline, south of the road but less species (seventeen). No Red-throated Loon or Common Murre.
There were two Black-crowned Night-herons. They were in a tree in the park east of the Marina, At first all we could tell was there a large bird with brown strips that we could only see its stomach up in a tree. Eventually two birds flew off, a juvenile and an adult Black-crowned Night-herons. The only butterfly seen today was a Fiery Skipper. Also seen were two harbor seals and ground squirrels.
