The New York Times reported that President Obama has created the world’s largest marine sanctuary in the south-central Pacific Ocean. This is an action he can take using executive authority and does not require action by congress. The marin sanctuary will help protect habitats for coral reefs, whales, dolphins, sharks, sea turtles and numerous fish species.
