ScienceDaily wrote about the problem of non-native birds impacting nature preserves and other wetland habitats of English native birds. Non-native wetland birds such as the Black Swan, and species which have colonised the UK naturally, such as the Little Egret and the Mediterranean Gull have an increased presence in English wetlands. There are now seven non-native wetland birds established in the UK. This increase in non-native birds could threaten the survival of native species.
