The BBC has a short article and video that on the flying snakes of the rainforests in Southeast Asia. The snakes are able to launch themselves from trees and glide through the air. Researchers found that the snakes radically alter their body shape. As they take off they flatten their bodies to create an aerodynamic shape that allows them to glide through the air.
