Southern California Wildflower Updates 4/18/14

DesertUSA has the following wildflower updates for Southern California

  • Directly across from Lake Elizabeth the hillside is covered with yellow and shades of lavender. Also the jewelflower was there. Definitely worth the trip. On Munz Road off Lake Elizabeth Road in a burn area there are baby blue eyes and miner’s lettuce.
  • took Ave 110 south of poppy reserve and up over Johnson Road. Saw lots of chia and it looks good with the poppies.
  • Ave D, Hwy 138 West of Poppy Reserve at Neenach, great expanses of poppies on either side of the road then past Neenach going West some lavender and yellow painting the hills and under the oaks!
  • Just west of poppy reserve at the bend before 170th street, I took a dirt road north and up and around, and saw some two tone poppies, desert paintbrush, cream cups, what a view!
