Seabird Plastic Ingestion Even Worst Than Thought

Conservation reports on a study finding that seabirds consume toxic amounts of trace metals contained in plastic. Toxic amounts of trace metals like silver, chromium, cadmium, mercury, and lead can cause physiological disruptions, infection, and neurological impairments. Even chicks have high levels of silver and chromium. If plastic levels continue to increase seabirds may have a very pessimistic future.
