Natural History Wanderings

Antelope Valley has the following wildflower report:

2/5/13: California is experiencing a severe drought again this year, and the Poppy Reserve has only had 2/3 of an inch of rain.  There are a few sprouts coming up, but without additional precipitation they won’t survive to flower. The hills are still brown and we don’t expect much of a bloom this year.
