Plenty Of Elephant Seals At Pt. Reyes

Its at Elephant Seal Season at Point Reyes National Seashore. Their Facebook page reports

there are nearly 1700 northern elephant seals hauled out on the beaches. They began arriving in December and are reaching their peak numbers. Males, called bulls, fight each other for the right to be the alpha bull among a harem of cows with whom he will try to mate. Alpha bulls usually get worn out trying to protect their harems and eventually become defeated in the course of a mating season.
